The Sugoi Lamp reflects my interest in Japanese architecture and decorative arts, and I strove to embody the elegant simplicity of Edo-period furnishings using modern industrial materials.

The delicacy of hand-laid paper is juxtaposed with the structural ironwork of cold-rolled steel. The frame’s strong vertical line casts shadows to raise eyes and ceilings upward.
