The Steam Chair was born from salvaged steam radiator components. While the upholstery is a comfortable and supportive composite of batting, foam rubber, and goose down, the chair’s frame stays true to the language of steam heating, from the cast-iron fittings to the clevis hangers to the brazed and welded construction.

This chair appeared in the "Contemporary Objects & Utilitarian Crafts for the Home" exhibition at Artspace in Raleigh, NC. A review of that exhibition is here.
